I am a UK qualified Chartered Counselling Psychologist, authorised to work in Norway.
I offer one-to-one counselling for adults, in English. I have experience working with a range of challenging life experiences and mental health diagnoses such as depression and anxiety. I can offer short, medium or long term counselling depending on your need and I am able to work from a variety of therapeutic approaches.
Counselling is a form of talking therapy that allows a person to talk about their thoughts, feelings and experiences in a safe and confidential setting.
Talking therapies can be referred to by many names, often used interchangeably, including counselling, psychotherapy, therapy, psychology, or by a specific type of therapy such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Humanistic therapy or Psychodynamic therapy.
Counselling Psychology is a branch of applied psychology, integrating psychological theory and research, with therapeutic practice.
Counselling Psychologists work with the individual’s unique subjective psychological experience to empower our client’s recovery and alleviate distress. As a Counselling Psychologist I place great importance of the collaborative nature of therapy and on the power of the relationship between the therapist and client.
The counselling I offer is based on a belief that you are an expert on your life (even if you don’t feel like it) and my role is to help you make best use of your experience and understanding. This means that I try to be as flexible as possible in responding to your needs. Whilst I am trained in humanistic, psychodynamic and CBT approaches to counselling I am open to exploring different ways of working with clients to discover what is most helpful.
